Symmetry of Wavefunction at the Interface of Fe/MgO Magnetic Tunneling Junction

We measured the anisotropy of Magnetic Compton profiles (MCP) in Fe/MgO multilayers and compared it with band structure calculations. At interface, |m| = 1 state minority is suppressed, which turn promotes spin-polarized occupation state. Fe/FeO interface intentionally oxidized multilayers, occupations magnetic quantum number are almost equal (spherical) majority band, therefore, spin-polarization occupancy also (spherical). These results contribute to material design for MTJs as high-performance spintronic devices.
